LIFT National Board of Directors Elects Stephen J. Rotella as New Chairman
Succeeds six-year board veteran, Michael Gilligan, who will continue to serve as advisor
Washington, D.C., – Today, LIFT announced Stephen J. Rotella, President of StoneCastle Partners LLC (SCP) and active philanthropist, as the new Chairman of its National Board. Steve assumes the role after Michael Gilligan, a veteran businessman and long-time supporter of LIFT’s work.
“We are thrilled to pass the baton from one incredible leader to another at a pivotal time in our history. Steve has done an outstanding job as the chair of our development committee and he has provided wise counsel as LIFT evolves to enhance our services to parents of young children in an effort to more directly address the cycle of poverty in the U.S.,” says LIFT CEO and Co-Founder, Kirsten Lodal. “I couldn’t think of a more thoughtful, strategic mind to have as a partner and board leader in this moment. And, we are thankful to our outgoing Chair, Michael Gilligan, for giving so generously of his wisdom, business acumen, and compassion these past years.”
Steve’s business career spans more than 30 years with a background in strategic and operating leadership in financial services that includes deep experience in retail and internet banking, marketing, asset management, organizational development and large scale operations management. Steve’s work in the community, with a focus on helping the underprivileged and in the arts, is well known. He has previously served on a number of Boards, including YouthCare, The Seattle Foundation, ArtsFund, BalletMet Columbus and is an active patron of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
“There is nothing more gratifying than knowing that something you have done, small or large, gives someone the chance to build a better life. LIFT has helped so many people do just that for a long time. So, I am deeply honored to serve as Chair of LIFT’s Board and partner with Kirsten Lodal, a nationally recognized leader, and all the passionate people at LIFT to innovate, expand our reach and make a difference in more people’s lives” says Steve Rotella.
On behalf of the entire LIFT community, including fellow board members, we could not be more excited to work with him in this new capacity. Learn more about Steve and our National Board on our website.
