Dear LIFTers,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of LIFT-LA. It is an honor to join this incredible organization dedicated to uplifting parents and empowering families to break the cycle of poverty through hope, money and love. In my years in the nonprofit and social services sector, equity and liberation continues to be a driving principle of my leadership and core to my humanity. I couldn’t feel more passionate in LIFT’s model of coaching rooted so deeply in dignity and trust, our work building those practices into larger structures, and our plans to uplift the voices within our community to reimagine systems and policies that hinder inclusive economic mobility.
As a parent, creating this type of change feels personal and imperative. For too long, the American dream has been exclusive to too few and the world we hope to leave our children in the hands those who benefit from systems and access to wealth. I’m excited to serve alongside those within our programs to break these barriers, create more opportunity and include our communities’ voices in decisions about the future.
Together, guided by hope, money, and love, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve, in the community we work and the country we live in. I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about how we can build on the incredible efforts already underway.
