LIFT-Boston was recently chosen as a client organization for an intensive Emerson College project where students develop effective public relations plans and materials to advance the mission and awareness of local organizations.
The project is part of the service-learning component of Emerson College Writing and Communications Professor, Jon Boroshok’s curriculum. The project has subsequently created an opportunity for non-profits to increase their visibility in the Boston area.
Emerson students Jonathan Graziano, Matthew Grossbart, Stephanie Miceli and Kayla Pinto are serving as external consultants to develop a marketing and communications strategy with message points to increase LIFT’s visibility among other Boston and Massachusetts non-profit organizations. Their final proposal will include researched print and online media lists, website and electronic newsletter recommendations and critique, and a comprehensive social media strategy.
The project kicked off with a consultation between the Emerson students and LIFT-Boston on effective television interview strategies to prepare for LIFT-Boston’s appearance as the first featured organization on Somerville Cable TV’s new program “Somerville Gives Back”.
The final component of the course project will be a formal presentation of the students’ communication strategy for LIFT-Boston on Monday, May 2nd.
