LIDS Foundation’s $75,000 Grant Supports LIFT’s Holistic Coaching Model, Empowering Parents to Achieve Financial Stability
LIFT, a national nonprofit committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by investing in parents, announced today that it has received a $75,000 grant from the LIDS Foundation. This generous investment will support LIFT’s mission in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to bring economic equity to marginalized communities by providing parents with financial, educational, and career coaching, along with direct cash support.
“LIDS Foundation’s partnership is helping LIFT build a more equitable future for families across the U.S.,” said Michelle Rhone-Collins, LIFT’s CEO. “This investment will empower thousands of hardworking parents to set and achieve goals that transform their families’ financial futures. We’re thrilled to have LIDS Foundation on board as we scale our reach and impact, ensuring parents have access to the support, dignity, and trust they need to thrive.”
LIFT’s holistic coaching model supports parents in setting and achieving personal goals like going back to school, improving credit, eliminating debt, or securing a living wage. Through individualized coaching and direct cash transfers, LIFT’s programs help families build financial strength, create social connections, and improve overall well-being.
“LIDS Foundation believes in the power of investing in parents to build stronger communities,” said Lawrence Berger, Chairman, of FanzzLids and board member for the LIDS Foundation. “Our partnership with LIFT aligns with our mission to help people of all ages live active, healthy, and productive lives, and we’re proud to help parents unlock their potential as they move their families from surviving to thriving.”
The LIDS Foundation’s grant will allow LIFT to expand its services, offering coaching and support to more families in need. Over the next year, LIFT will also provide technical assistance to organizations nationwide, equipping staff in early childhood, higher education, and healthcare sectors with the tools to integrate LIFT’s family-centered coaching model into their programs. This grant will further enable LIFT to advocate for policies that elevate the voices of low-income families and address structural barriers to economic mobility.
